Safe entry and exit

Each new vehicle generation offers more comfort. Now, entering and exiting VGF-vehicles has become simple and comfortable. Every door is equipped with a lighted button for opening. If a door does not work, please use the next one and inform our vehicle personnel, if possible.

Almost all doors of VGF-busses and trains open and close automatically. The first door can also usually be operated by the vehicle personnel by pressing a button. The rear doors cannot be dependably monitored by means of the external mirrors. For this reason, we employ automatic monitoring equipment, such as photoelectric barriers or step contacts.

Upon reaching the stop/station, the driver releases the following by pressing a button

• The 2nd and 3rd door in busses,
• All doors for self-service in trains.

After an appropriate period for changing trains – depending upon passenger density -, the driver cancels the release of the doors by pressing the button again. In the next 3-4 seconds, all doors then close automatically.

If a passenger steps into a closing door, the door opens again. After the last door is closed, the driver receives the departure signal.

It is possible that the doors may close "in the passenger’s face", because the closing system unfortunately does not give the driver any possibility for individually holding the doors open. Therefore, please do not blame the driver.
