Information campaign regarding installations in vehicles and stations: VGF informs about safety and service – installation of video surveillance on subway trains

In 2010, VGF continues its „Safety & Service“ (SuS) project in order to not „only“ ensure but to also continuously improve these crucial aspects related to bus and train operation. However, video surveillance as well as emergency call and information columns are only part of the extensive safety equipment that is employed in Frankfurt subways, trams, busses, and stations. With an information campaign, we intend to point out the function of the many different facilities throughout its network in the coming weeks.

Posters in the showcases and infoscreen spots on the 14 screens at „Hauptwache“, „Konstablerwache“, „Bockenheimer Warte“, and „Hauptbahnhof“ stations expand on the brochure with this and other kinds of information, which is also available in English (805 KB). This is also true for a check card (181 KB) with important emergency and information telephone numbers, which fits in any wallet. This offers the numbers for the police and fire department (110 and 112) as well as the SuS-Centre (213 22708) and the Safety and Service office at Hauptwache (213 24711). The service-numbers include the VGF lost-and-found (213 22258) and complaint management (213 22235), in addition to the general customer service extension (19449).

Well-trained personnel and state-of-the-art technical equipment ensure that you may feel safe on our busses and trains as well as in our stations and at our stops. VGF’s activities center around the „Safety & Service“ (SuS) project. This includes the installation of video cameras as well as emergency and information pillars in subway stations in order to aid our passengers faster. The Safety & Service Control Center, the heart of this system and the most modern in Germany, has been controlling the cameras, receiving emergency and information calls from the pillars, and coordinating the deployment of the security service since 2006.
