VGF’s buses

In contrast to VGF’s rail vehicles, the VGF buses are not given any type designation by their operator. The low-floor buses keep the designations given by their manufacturers. The low-floor system means that the entrance is only 34 centimetres above road level. The kerbs have been modified in the vicinity of the bus stops to ensure only a very small step for entering. If any passengers are not quite steady on their legs, or if they have prams with them, the driver can lower the bus on the door side by a further 8 centimetres. In addition to this, these vehicles have entrance aids at the middle door that makes it possible for wheelchair users to come on board. The vehicles are equipped with air-conditioning and exhaust retreatment. The air-conditioning system ensures a pleasant temperature inside the vehicle throughout the year. These vehicles are also fitted with environmentally friendly CRT filters; these letters stand for Continuously Regenerating Trap, which is the latest technology in diesel particle filters.
