Travelling to/ from the airport

Frankfurt Airport is the second-biggest in Europe and has two terminals, both of which can be reached easily with the "Sky Line" shuttle – it is free, and it runs every three minutes. To travel further by rail there is a regional station for local destinations such as the centre of Frankfurt, and a mainline station for more distant destinations. Buses run to destination all over the region from the central bus station.

Your route to the regional railway station (Level 01):

From the departures/arrivals hall in Terminal 1 the signs will show you the right way to the "Regionalbahnhof" and platforms 1 to 3 in Level 01 (the underground railway station). Trains leaving Platform 1 go in the direction of Frankfurt. From Terminal 2 the Sky Line will bring you to Terminal 1, Departures Hall B, and escalators will then take you on the route described above.

Your route to the mainline railway station (Level 3):

Follow the signs to “Fernbahnhof”, which will lead you from Terminal 1, Halls A and B, through the Frankfurt Airport Centre (FAC) to the mainline station with platforms 4 to 7. Hall C is connected through the Sheraton Hotel. From Terminal 2 a bus shuttle service running every 10 minutes will bring you to the bus station next to Terminal 1, and from there the signs will direct you through the Frankfurt Airport Centre (FAC) to the mainline station. The Sky Line will also bring you to Terminal 1, and from there on the route is as described above.

Your route to the bus station (Level 1):

From inside Terminal 1, follow the signs to “Busbahnhof”, which will guide you to the front of the airport building. From Terminal 2 a bus shuttle service running every 10 minutes will bring you to the bus station next to Terminal 1. If you use the Sky Line to Terminal 1, use the escalators and follow the signs to “Busbahnhof”.
