If you are going to make frequent breaks in your trip or a round tour it is worth-while to buy an all-day ticket. This is because it costs hardly any more than two single tickets at peak times and allows you to travel as much as you like within the selected tariff zone.
By the way, at off-peak times, meaning on Mondays to Fridays before 6.00 a.m., between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m., and again after 6.30 p.m., single tickets cost less in Frankfurt than they do at peak times.
Short trips: That means reduced fares in Frankfurt for trips of no more than 2 kilometres. You can look at the table of departures at the bus stop or the auto-matic ticket dispenser to see whether the trip you have in mind counts as a short trip. If you would like top buy a short-trip ticket, simply press the quick-selection button marked “Kurzstrecke” (“short trip”). The fare is the same for adults (1,50 €) and for children (0,90 €).
You can buy single tickets for Frankfurt (tariff zone 50) from the automatic ticket dispensers, by simply pressing the quick-selection button marked “Einzelfahrt Frankfurt” (“single trip within Frankfurt”).
You will find more tips on buying tickets in our detailed explanation of the automatic ticket dispenser.
