You can travel at any time from 9.00 a.m. onwards from Mondays to Fridays, and at any time of day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

These tickets cannot be used on long-distance trains, meaning those designated D, IC, EC or ICE. Please note: it is only available for 2nd class travel, and it is not possible to pay a surcharge and travel 1st class.

The ticket is available on all routes, whether rail, bus, tram or underground, that form part of the transport grouping within the Federal State of Hessen: Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV), Nordhessische Verkehrsverbund (NVV) and Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar (VRN).

The HessenTicket is also an inexpensive alternative for spontaneous trips. It is available everywhere where the transport grouping’s tickets are on sale, meaning it can also be bought from the VGF automatic ticket dispensers.
