The SemesterTicket
The SemesterTicket is available to all students registered at a college or university that is based within the RMV region and is participating in the "SemesterTicket". The price is added to the tuition fees. The SemesterTicket is valid seven days a week, round the clock, in the entire RMV region. A surcharge ticket is necessary for those trips that require one.
The SemesterTicket takes the form of the student identity card with "SemesterTicket" on a sticker or overprinted, combined with the student’s identity card, passport or consular card.
Foreign students can apply for an RMV Customer Card in lieu of a consular card or similar, and this will then serve as the SemesterTicket in combination with the student identity card. The RMV Customer Card is available from any VGF ticket office on presentation of a completed order card with confirmation of the student’s registration or the stamp of the college.
The RMV SemesterTicket is a personal season ticket and so cannot be transferred to anyone else, and does not entitle holders to take anyone with them. It cannot be used on German Railways IC, EC or ICE trains, nor for paying part of the fare on these trains
