The Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse (with and without subscription)

  • is available for everyone aged 65 and over
  • can be ordered from as early as the 1st of the month in which the user turns 65
  • first day of validity is always the 1st of any month
  • entitles the holder to any number of journeys throughout Hesse in 2nd class, as well as in several adjacent areas, such as Mainz, Eberbach and Warburg. Overview – Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse
  • costs 31.00 Euro (12x) per month for a subscription and 365.00 Euro (only 1 Euro per day) for 1x payment
  • is valid Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m., on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve this even applies all day
  • requires proof of age (copy or original presentation of an identity document)
  • can be paid for by way of convenient direct debit (subscription) as 12x or 1x direct debit, or by way of direct purchase without subscription as cash, credit or debit card payment
  • is not transferable
  • does not include a shared carriage arrangement for additional persons
  • excludes the purchase of 1st class add-ons
  • is not valid in the transitional tariff areas of the RNN and VAB
  • is sent or issued as an eTicket on a chip card
  • unlimited duration as per subscription, with a direct purchase it expires after 12 months
  • can always be cancelled or returned by the 10th of the month to the end of the month. In case of early termination in the 1st year of the contract, an additional charge will be made in accordance with the Special Conditions for the Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse, from the 2nd year of contract, this is omitted
  • is also available at a reduced price with the Frankfurt-Pass

The Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse for the Frankfurt Pass (with and without subscription)

  • is available for everyone over 65 with a valid Frankfurt-Pass
  • costs 9.30 Euro (12x) per month (subscription)
  • costs 109.50 Euro when purchased directly at TicketCenter or TicketShop
  • requires a Frankfurt Pass valid for at least 6 months from the first day of validity of the subscription, 12 months for direct purchase
  • is only valid for as long as the presented Frankfurt-Pass is valid. Regular presentation of the extended Frankfurt-Pass before its expiry is a prerequisite, otherwise the subscription will be cancelled.
  • can only be purchased on site upon presentation of the original Frankfurt-Pass
  • can only be purchased with a valid Frankfurt-Pass. This must always be carried when travelling and presented to the ticket inspector on request
  • is otherwise subject to the same regulations as the Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse

Where is it available?

The subscription for the Senior Citizen Ticket is available under MeineVGF (until 15th of the previous month)

Alternatively, you can use the completed order form (by 10th of the previous month) to apply for the Senior Citizen Ticket by e-mail or post. In addition to the order form for the Senior Citizen Ticket for the Frankfurt-Pass, you will also need a copy of your Frankfurt-Pass. Both can also be sent via the VGF letterboxes.

The Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse Komfort (with and without subscription)

  • offers some great additional benefits for all those who want more than just the Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse
  • costs 53.00 Euro (12x) per month or 625.00 Euro for 1x payment
  • entitles the holder to any number of journeys in 1st class
  • entitles the holder to take one adult and any number of children under 15 years of age throughout Hesse from 7 p.m. Monday to Friday. On Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays in Hesse, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve this even applies all day.
  • your travel companion is also entitled to use 1st class
  • is otherwise subject to the same regulations as the Senior Citizen Ticket Hesse

The 65-monthly ticket Frankfurt

  • is available for everyone aged 65 and over
  • is suitable for senior citizens who only use public transport occasionally
  • can be purchased from the 1st of the month in which the user turns 65
  • is valid for the Frankfurt city area including the airport
  • is valid Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m., on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays in Hesse, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve even all day
  • costs 65.60 Euro
  • can also be purchased in advance from any day of validity
  • is issued as an eTicket with
    corresponding proof of eligibility on a chip card
  • requires an age-related proof of eligibility before purchase (presentation of an identity document). Once this eligibility has been issued on a chip card, it can be used to purchase tickets from ticket machines
  • can be used from the first day of validity to the same date in the following month, if not available the day before
  • is not transferable
  • does not include a shared carriage arrangement, cannot be used in 1st class and is not valid on weekends

When purchasing directly, you can obtain the 65-monthly ticket Frankfurt from ticket machines (chip card required) as well as in the TicketShops and TicketCenter.

Your proof of eligibility can be registered in the TicketShops, the Infobus or the TicketCenter.

The 65-plus monthly ticket

  • is available for everyone aged 65 and over
  • is suitable for senior citizens who only use public transport occasionally or want to travel to the transitional tariff zones
  • can be purchased from the 1st of the month in which the user turns 65
  • is available in every price level (german), including in the transitional tariff
  • is valid around the clock from Monday to Friday in the selected price level
  • can also be purchased in advance from any day of validity
  • is issued as an eTicket with
    corresponding proof of eligibility on a chip card
  • requires an age-related proof of eligibility before purchase (presentation of an identity document). Once this eligibility has been issued on a chip card, it can be used to purchase tickets from ticket machines
  • can be used from the first day of validity to the same date in the following month, if not available the day before
  • is valid in 2nd class
  • is not transferable
  • entitles you to bring one adult and any number of children under 15 years of age from 7 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve this even applies all day. On Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays in Hesse, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, the validity of the ticket is extended to the entire RMV area, even for your travel companions.
