Eschersheimer Landstraße building works

On the most-used U-Bahn route in Frankfurt, the A-Line, the lines U1, U2, U3 and U8 all run a few minutes apart from each other. More than 400 trains a day in each direction traverse this line. So it’s no wonder that the route now has to undergo thorough renovation. Therefore from 1 to 30 July 2017, the route between Dornbusch and Heddernheim will be interrupted in two sections. The works will take place in the summer holidays, as significantly fewer people use the trains during this time.

In the tunnel section between Dornbusch and Südbahnhof, the U1 will run without restrictions every 5 minutes with 4-carriage trains. U-Bahn trains are also running towards the city centre non-stop from Heddernheim, although not according to the usual schedule. Bendy buses will also serve as replacements in between.
We recommend avoiding the construction works as much as possible when travelling by bus, tram or train or otherwise allow extra time for delays if taking the normal routes.

Luckily there’s nearly always more than one way to get your destination in Frankfurt’s extensive local transit system. You can find the best connection with the journey planner at www.rmv.de or the RMV service number 069 / 24 24 80 24, which is available 24/7.

When and where the U-Bahn trains will be interrupted
The necessary track construction works will take place in two sections. From 1 to 16 July, U-Bahn trains between Heddernheim and Hügelstraße will be interrupted. Finally, from 17 to 30 July, U-Bahn trains will not run between Hügelstraße and Dornbusch
