Important information about the audio city tour:
The journey with the Ebbelwei-Express starts at the city’s zoo and takes you on a circular route past important sights of the city of Frankfurt am Main.
For improved orientation, at the beginning of each audio file a signal tone, the title number and the stop that you are travelling to is mentioned. Afterwards, the sights are mentioned on the left or right side of the route. You can use your MP3 player to move between the stops as you wish. This assumes that you have transferred all podcast files to your MP3 player in the correct order. At the end of a title there is another identifying signal. If you hear this and are not yet at the next stop, press Pause on your MP3 player and wait until the next stop.
The Ebbelwei express:
Before we start our city tour, we would like to introduce our Ebbelwei-Express to you: Trams in Frankfurt are marked by the consecutive assignment of letters. The latest type of tram is the “S” carriage. The Ebbelwei-Express is a train of the “K” generation and was built between 1949 and 1954 by the company Duewag/Crede. It is 11.44 metres long, 2.16 metres wide and has 22 seats and 8 standing places. With a weight of 13 tons it has an engine power of 2 x 60 kW. The VGF has a total of 4 drive units and 6 carriages in its inventory.
And now we hope you enjoy your journey through our beautiful city. If the train is already moving and has left the Zoo stop, you can quickly switch to the next title.
